Mostly positive in a tough business environment.

Vice President (Current Employee)
New York, NY (US)

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time for more than 10 years

ProsSurrounded by intelligent hard working people. Good work-life balance. Ability to advance depending on current position.

ConsNew division management has lofty ideas which are not always consistent with reality. Legacy managers built the business and know what it takes to achieve continued growth.

Advice to Senior ManagementDeveloping new businesses is a terrific way to increase revenue but be careful not to give short shrift to the legacy businesses which are still the company's foundation.

I have been working at BNY Mellon

ProsFriendly down to earth group of employees.

ConsSalary is low and there's no negotiating on whether it should be revalued for individuals, regardless of skill set. Systems are poor.

Best Companie Ive ever worked for

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee)

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time for more than a year

ProsALL managers treat you like an equal, ask for your input, you work as a team all day, but you never feel micro managed. Great opportunities to move up, and a lot of fun activities to join.

ConsI was only here for a couple of years but it's my understanding raises aren't something to look forward to. Of course, I cant speak from experience, and it is a pretty big company so im sure that on the business side, they really are doing the best they can considering they give most people raises.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep treating your employees with the same respect, i truly think that's why business keeps growing so much you have to keep relocating.

BNYM

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time

ProsWork/life balance, culture, direct managers are good people, training is good,

ConsAdvancement, compensation, governance, IT bad, board needs turnover, senior managers care more about themselves and risk aversion than they should

Advice to Senior ManagementStreamline company, put senior managers in place that actually know businesses they manage. Thin out management levels. Get rid of bad performers and reinvest in strong performers.
