I have been working at Bank of America part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The benefits are pretty good here from medical, discounts you get for working there, transportation is covered. Competitive pay for the part time needs.

    Cons

Opportunity for growth is minimal you can only move up if somebody moves out, varying schedules, extremely long work days, some up to 13 hours! No matter how you are hired in, even if you are better qualified for a better position in the company you have to excel at the job you have first before you look at another job, its kind of silly

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put people where they are strong at, if you are going to evaluate a fish on its ability to climb a tree it can never grow in its career.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Vacation time was really generous, and the best health care benefits I've ever had. And working at a bank, of course you get those banking holidays off, too. Multiple sites throughout the country for marketing (ECS). Management very personable and approachable. Flexible hours -- not an issue to take time off for appointments, etc.

    Cons

Remote work presented challenges in that it felt like things were happening at "the mothership" that didn't get communicated out across all sites. I like that they encouraged community involvement and volunteering. But they did a push with The United Way where we were encouraged to make regular donations through automatic payroll deductions -- and it wasn't anonymous. One coworker didn't and he found himself on some sort of list of people who hadn't signed up. I have nothing against the United Way but I prefer to focus my discretionary dollars on causes that have a personal connection. Raises were mediocre.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Path to promotions was unclear.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great Pay, Benefits and Hours.

    Cons

like anywhere else, it depends on current Manager which changes annually when they re-align and you have to learn what is important to them. If you can get through that it's not too bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop trying to play catch up and stay true to the strategy and make small tweaks to make the business grown. Move high performers up who actually know what is happening in the Stores so that they can make some real wide impact.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Wonderful benefits program. Consumer banking has many strong individual contributors who truly care about their clients.

    Cons

Consumer banking continues to see massive cutbacks, greatly effecting associate & customer satisfaction. This has turned into underpaid & overworked associates & even more disgruntled customers for them to try to satisfy with less time & fewer resources.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the associates in the trenches. Better yet, get in there with them & see what's happening. Compensation needs to be more directly aligned to revenue growth. Focus more on helping current associates grow rather than recruiting through college programs.

I worked at Bank of America part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits, time-off policies, student loan reimbursements, day care reimbursements, etc. They spoil you with benefits as an employee.

    Cons

leadership; extremely strict guidelines on restroom use, customer interaction, etc. The sales goals are unrealistic and most of them can't be controlled. You're limited to how much traffic comes through the door, and even then it's mostly repeating customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

better management. Need to review goals with each person individually. Don't try to "hack" the system.
