I worked at Bell Mobility as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

If you are new to Canada and would like to gain Canadian work experience, this is the best place to start. Managers are very supportive. You can learn a lot. You can get a good reference in your resume.

I worked at Bell Mobility for more than 3 years

    Pros

Really good benefits at entry level. Lot of training. Job security after your probation. Opportunities to get a bonus each year, even yr first

    Cons

A lot of stress, because of unhappy customers + mandatory sales. Pretty far for downtown, expect to loose 2 hrs in traffic per day. Difficult to have daytime m-f or student schedules. No collaboration between depts.

I worked at Bell Mobility part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Decent commission if you work in a busy location. I had the opportunity to work with some great people over the years.

    Cons

No appreciation for hard work and dedication. Management only cares about the numbers, not about client satisfaction or loyalty. A lot of shady people who work there lie to customers to make the numbers look good on paper/maximize on commission without regard for the best interest of the customer.

I worked at Bell Mobility full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

My division was a collaborative, friendly culture with work-life balance. We had the opportunity for flexible hours to accommodate the needs of our families (day care, school schedules, medical appointments), and to work from home using the secure network - a great advantage to a company trying to sell such services to other businesses!

    Cons

There was not much room for advancement given how often Bell lays off staff. The semi-annual performance-review process is not very useful to management nor employees. The time to calibrate the various managers' measurements of their respective staff to each other is not at the end of the review period, but at the beginning. For a lot of us, it felt like the whole process and outcome was a rationalization to not pay earned bonuses and keep salaries at least in line with inflation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get George Cope's vision down to the level of every manager as soon as possible.
