    Pros

Great compensation packages. Working with very smart people across many different departments!

    Cons

Job security is questionable. As with any big corporation, politics always have some role in decision making process.

    I worked at BlackBerry

    Pros

Probably the best benefits for a Canadian company. Salaries were generally higher. Everyone gets a BlackBerry with data plans. And atleast until recently this company was (and still is) a Canadian tech icon.

    Cons

Too much inter department politics and work spent on wasted projects (that never go to prod). In the last few years work had become quite stressful with tight deadlines. A lot of chaos in upper man agent.

I worked at BlackBerry full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Despite the current sentiment of the company, working at RIM/BlackBerry was always a conversation starter, benefits were good, salary was good, generally good people to work with

    Cons

Lack of innovation, lack of direction, lack of decision making, too top heavy, upward movement was difficult to attain, too Waterloo-centric (leading back to lack of innovation)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do the opposite of what was done between 2010 and 2013, move the headquarters to (or hire more in) Toronto or Silicon Valley, reduce the number of middle-aged, rural-based developers trying to make product decisions.
