I worked at BlackBerry full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to learn, always challenging and your employee peers are great.
Salary and benefits are average and vacation is really good.

    Cons

Too many layers of management with little time to devote to employee development

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication could be better. You can tell that they try, but sometimes messages are lost in the cascade.

I have been working at BlackBerry full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed working at BlackBerry. I was given the opportunity to expand my role to include Operations. There was great trust between me and my VP.

    Cons

When it came to promotions and perks, the company would only consider what the engineers had done on specific projects and in general. Administrative staff salary upgrades were only considered on a yearly basis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper Management moves forward with the support of their Executive Assistants. We take the administrative load from your shoulders which allow you to dedicate more of your time to working with your technical teams. Treat your administrative staff with the same respect you treat your engineering staff.
