    I have been working at Campbell Soup Company full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Great working environment, people and culture. Extremely loyal workforce (mid level managers) that have been with the business a minimum of 5 years. Work gets done and and categories that we compete in are growing very well. Good for people who want work-life balance

    Cons

    The senior directors (people in the business for more than 10 years) in the business are unwilling to change and many have been in their positions due to "seniority". They are not changing with the times fast enough to address the constant changing business environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    We need to look outside of Soups and diversify the business that includes other high growth categories. Stick to a winning strategy and by follow through on the commitments

    CSC is a great company and you can have varied experiences if you manage your career appropriately and have the support of management.

    Cons

    Culture has been fantastic with the exception of the last year, year and a half due to structural changes. Changes are still on-going.

    Pros

    Wonderful people, great perks like on-site daycare and fitness center. People care about their work, and doing right by the consumer. They work hard and step up to overcome challenges.

    Cons

    Culture in flux. Pendulum has shifted too far from valuing/investing in employees (Gallup model) to solely driving business results. Feels more transactional than team or people-focused. Businesses are being consolidated without additional people resources, so teams are stretched very thin.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen more. Seek to understand what's driving employee dissatisfaction. Resource businesses and projects appropriately - many critical projects are under-resourced. When a decision is made, stick with it. The back and forth is difficult for teams to manage.

    Nice, and friendly environment, and great work-life balance. Great options for food as well.

    Hard to move around, if your just starting out

    Pay more attention to how will you as upper management work together, so you can give clear and concise direction to the Mid-level management.

    There is not one good thing to be said about this company. I'm stunned they are still in business.

    Cons

    I don't know who is submitting these reviews because I don't know anyone who works at Campbell's who is happy. They have lay-offs on a regular basis and if you're over a certain age and/or close to retirement, watch your back.

    Awesome work life balance, great, ,smart people and interesting work. I've continued to feel challenged and learn throughout my career.

    Volatile environment right now with lots of org changes. Top heavy structure limits opportunities for advancement.

    Pros

    Great training, fantastic people to work with. Most employees have 5, 10, 15+ years of experience, are extremely smart, and are open to sharing their knowledge, best practices, etc.

    Cons

    Company is VERY political, morale is low at corporate HQ. It is not uncommon for the company to lay off dozens of people at the end of a fiscal year in order to cut costs. Used to be a very stable place to work.

    Trust your people more. We used to joke around that at Campbell's you're encouraged to speak your mind, as long as you believe the same thing that management is saying.

    - Fast paced especially for a co-op student. I was told to lead a meeting on the first day.
