I worked at Cargill full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Systems very tight and very well deployed. HR especially.

    Cons

cut throat wages and will employ low paid workers to do higher payed jobs with promises of better things in the future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Say what you are going to do and do what you say you are going to do. The values are great, but not adhered to at the local level.

I have been working at Cargill full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Career development oppertunities, corporate ethics and continual focus on leadership behaviours are unique.

    Cons

As a global corporation headquatered in Minnesota there can be too much focus on MN corporate culture, e.g. peer and leader candor is not as honest as other companies. Additionally, unlike many other large corporations in more diverse cities, there is a limited racial and ethnicly diverse employment market.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Contine to push at lowering the cost of candor and focus on raising performance.

    Neutral Outlook

    Excellent internship program.
    Work Life balance.
    Beautiful Ofiicce.

I have been working at Cargill full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Ethics and values, stable, profitable, good benefits, 401(k) match, global, stature within the industry

    Cons

Company politics, sink or swim training (which I personally like, good for a person that likes to be self-directed), over-corrects whenever issues come up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Over the years it has felt like the way to advance has moved from performance based to being tied to who you know. Those that have tenure and a senior leader invested in them will do well.

I have been working at Cargill

    Pros

    Estable, solid and integral company.

    Cons

At least In my country, there is no chances of getting promoted or getting any paid formación to develope our career. In part is a fault from the economic system, but also from the old fashioned management and the lack of innovation in the work model.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Retain your talents, pay better salaries and empower your workteams.

    Recommends
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
