Former Employee – worked at Charles Schwab full-time
Pros – Great benefits
1 Month Sabbatical for every 5 years worked
Good products to sell, including SMA accounts, wrap accounts and insurance products.
Cons – Outdated performance review metrics led to a near complete turnover of several offices in the area.
Can you afford to take a sabbatical for one month if your performance is judged quarter by quarter?
Advice to Senior Management – Performance reviews should be more aligned with retention and long term performance, including retention of clients currently enrolled in managed account products

Current Employee – been working at Charles Schwab full-time for more than a year
Pros – If you lack experience company is a great place to launch your career. They provide a great learning experience and provide you with the tools needed to succeed. Company's culture is great, lots of chances to move laterally if you get bored with any one position.
Cons – Pay is poor compared to rest of the industry. Good place to start your career, and move on. Although a meritocracy, it takes too long to advance and very few jobs actually come w/ much of a pay increase.
Advice to Senior Management – Increase salaries, or at least bonuses!
