    Pros

Pretty good place to work with a lot of perks such as concert tickets at area venues. Also, exciting to be in the music industry.

    Cons

politics, in a word. Like any large corporation, everyone is trying to climb the ladder of success so you sometimes their efforts to do so will be on the backs of others.

I have been working at Clear Channel as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I got to meet celebrities, gain valuable experience, make connections, and learn from those who are already where I would like to be.

    Cons

A lot of the jobs have been cut into one person doing several different things. Also, more radio programs have become more automated making it less interesting to listen to and shutting out jobs for those who would like to apply as on-air personalities. Those jobs are rarely open. Also, some positions are high turnover positions, and they are always cutting budgets.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If this company doesn't want to lose so much money, maybe they should invest in a Urban contemporary Christian Radio Station. There are so many young adults and teens who enjoy gospel hip-hop and rhythm & Praise gospel music, but this market is ignored almost altogether by this company. While all of the other media mediums have gotten the hint that Christian media is what's hot right now and bringing in the most viewership thus making the most money. They are losing out on too much advertising dollars and will continue to cut budgets. I interned in Chicago, IL.

I worked at Clear Channel as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Friendly environment..Many learning and hands-on opportunities..The option to move around departments...Constant feedback and help..Overall good experience. I have interned at other radio companies and compared to them, I got the most out of Clear Channel. It was on par with Sirius XM's program.

    Cons

None. I wish I was hired at the end of my internship.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Medford, MA (US)
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Medford, MA (US)

I worked at Clear Channel full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Perks - tickets to any kind of event (but only if the person who managed those tickets likes you).
There are plenty of decent and awesome people there - but not at the decision-making level.

    Cons

You only matter if you're on-air or in senior management - everyone else is disposable and treated as such.
Expected to put in more than 24 hours a day without compensation.
No understanding from the senior management about family emergencies or sick children - Clear Channel comes first.
No problem taking credit for other people's ideas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize the people who work their butts off and train your market leaders to be open to constructive criticism. It wouldn't hurt to get some of the "peons'" opinions every so often.
