Pros – For the most part, it's a great group of people. Fully stocked kitchen, frequent lunches/events, 1/2 day Fridays, and a lot of vacation days (more than you'll probably get anywhere else). Not a lot of micro-management, which means you can do most of your work independently/at a reasonable pace. Flexible/casual scheduling, and a casual dress code. These things can go a long way - however...
Cons – You get a lot of vacation days to offset the fact that the insurance benefits are pretty awful. There's a mentality from some members of management that is "do as I say, but not as I do." This can be frustrating. At times, it feels like the US arm of the company is run like a "family owned" business, rather than a global firm with nearly 200 employees. There seems to be a large divide when it comes to compensation. Some people are very well compensated, while others are barely making enough to live.
Advice to Senior Management – Be more present - literally.

Pros – friendly firm with no backstabbing or snide remarks being made by others. Everyone is helpful and whilst it may not be the slick super machine everyone craves to work for it is a nice place to work. You are allowed to get involved in other areas and there is a real passion to promote from within. The management team seem to believe in the firm and want what is best for the firm and the staff - they actually seem to care.
Cons – There is definitely a true entrepreneurial feel to the place which also allows individuals to get involved in areas that they shouldn't do which can be annoying. There is a lack of structure and process but this is being addressed so a mini Con - yes the salaries are not the highest in the world but many people seem to compare the remuneration to the levels of IB's or hedge Funds who are out client - we service that industry not work for it so our remuneration is fair - albeit the lower end of fair.
Advice to Senior Management – Process will make things easier in the long run.

Pros – Get off early on Fridays during the summer is about the only pro.
Cons – Pay sucks!!! Expect to work long hours without deserved pay. The company thinks its okay to pay for your lunch once a month to make up for the low pay. Raises (if any) are a joke. Human resources is made up of one person who doesn't have a clue what is going on in the company. When problems are brought to human resources, they simply give you an excuse to mull over the situation and it never gets resolved. The turn over rate is ridiculous. Do not get used to seeing/ working with someone for very long. Every other month someone is leaving the company. Once those people leave, be prepared to take on more and more work. Also, Senior or Upper management position play favorites. It is clear that employees who are closer to those in upper positions are securing their jobs.
Also, there is a clear divide among departments.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop ignoring problems. The more you ignore these issues, the more unhappy your employees will be.
Pros – There really are none. Collecting a pay check is one.
Cons – Too numerous to list. Management does not follow through with promised raises. The company owner cries poverty, then takes off for his skiing holiday to Aspen.
Advice to Senior Management – Do as I say, not as i do is not an effective management style.
