I worked at D&B as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Money good. Many good people, always willing to help.

    Cons

One person doing the work of three. Unrealistic expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to be more knowledgeable in what is involved in producing a product. Managers need training in how to speak and treat employees. Management needs to realize that the quality of the product will determine its success.

    Solid, stable company with history

I have been working at D&B

    Pros

Good company that provides competitive salary and benefits, also generous bonuses. Company also provides lots of out of office interaction with colleagues (i.e. bowling, picnics, special events).

    Cons

D&B offers a very complex product line, thus as a new employee it will take some time to get up to speed and comfortable in your role. Way too much micromanaging and not enough telecommuting options available.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more comprehensive training of product line which allows new employees get up to speed much quicker and work independently. Also provide more telecommuting option as standard D&B company policy.

    I worked at D&B full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent place to start out a career and develop your skillset. Work life balance is good, secondary benefits are also good. In sales, car allowance is excellent. Very tight knight and friendly colleagues.

    Cons

Company not investing in creating differentiation of product: still sitting on high margin business and not accelerating past competition or truly innovating. Fear of change. Local office run by a clique who back themselves up towards senior international management. Not too many places to grow to. HR is very good though. Zero marketing investment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest: in product, in marketing, in career progression. Weed out the politics.

I worked at D&B as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Friendly employees, very much so 9-5 with some exceptions, interesting work. Pretty good comps.

    Cons

No young staff = no innovation in thought or processes. They are trying to improve the brand which will take time, but their products and offerings need to be refreshed, not just the logo alone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in the future - need better talent, need to be on the cutting edge of data analytics.

    Pros

Friendly colleagues, interesting work, motivating atmosphere, good benefits. New CEO is energizing and exciting. Has been a great company for years and seems to be improving. I learned a lot here and found it a very positive experience overall.

    Cons

Like any corporate place, has its Dilbert moments but overall it's a good place to work and treats employees well. It is undergoing change and that can always create a "wait and see" vibe but all signs seem good.

    Pros

Great leadership team and continuing to improve. World class innovation and industry leading information and insight. The best in the business.

    Cons

No local office in many locations. While there are lots of benefits to being a home worker, thee are drawbacks as well. Travel can get tiresome after months of the routine.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep innovating. Do not become complacent or accept the status quo.

    Cons

no room for advancement. Too many cuts over the years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Current Employee - Relationship Manager in Center Valley, PA (US)

I have been working at D&B full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people. Good work life balance. New CEO who wants to take the company in the right direction

    Cons

No new innovation and years of over charging customers is now coming back to bite the company. Data is more easily attainable no. D&B is not the only player on the block but charges like they are. Pricing of the products is a huge issue.
They are like a big ship that sees the iceberg ahead but does not know how to turn. They are trying to turn now but are already feeling glancing blows. Quota is hard/next to impossible to obtain since customer constantly drop for much lower prices. No real innovation to replace.. Sales reps just move from dept to dept to avoid getting laid off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Good luck.... Lower pricing to start competing and loss revenue or continue on the same downward trend
