    Pros

    Great benefits. Company supplies a van, tools, and training to allow you to succeed. If your willing to work hard, provide an excellent customer experience and follow the guidelines that you're given during training, you can make a great living at this job!

    Cons

    Long hours. Unfortunately, if your a family person, work/life balance can be lacking. You will have very late nights, but in our shop, your fellow techs are good about helping each other so you can get home earlier. Piece rate position, so while you can make a lot of money during the busy season, when it slows down, it can be frustrating. Reschedules, cancellations and no line of sights mean zero pay, but it often equals out during the busy part of the year.

    Promotion opportunities do exist, however, it often requires that you're willing to move to another shop. Being promoted within your own shop is often extremely difficult.

    Look at promoting within the shop. It is very disappointing to a tech that wants to do more, to always see outside people being promoted over techs that have applied within the shop.

    Low stress job, good benefits, with a little seniority you can get a good schedule.

    Too much depends on your immediate supervisor.

    The benefits are great, Human resources has created a great atmosphere and balances your personal life with your work life.

    Personal growth is very difficult. There is very little room to grow (at least in the Colombia branch).

    Pros

    Excellent promotional and advancement opportunities, great pay and bonus structure if you excel. Plenty of vacation time, floating holidays, OT is always available. There is always openings in other departments if your not happy with your call type.Free complimentary TV service which includes NFL Sunday Ticket and every other channel imaginable.Team enviroment.always incentives to sell, TVs, cash, gist cards, etc

    Cons

    Mandatory OT, very busy, some customers will be upset, huge turnover rate, AT&T

    Pros

    They really take care of their employees. VERY GOOD benefits and they provide you with excellent training and all the tools that you need to succeed. Great pay if you are willing to work hard and do as many jobs as you can.

    Cons

    NO LINE OF SIGHT! You would go to apartment buildings at least 4-5 times a week just to tell the customer that you cannot do the install.

    Crawl spaces and attics. Nasty and VERY HOT!!!

    No set hours you would some days have to stay out till 9 or 10 pm to finish your last call. Other days there was not much work and you sit all day waiting for something to come up. Not very often but this part was the reason I left.

    Have your field supervisors in the field not the office.

    Paid training,a room while in training, a van with gas card, tools to do the job,and a cell phone. Not to mention the pay and incentives for providing great customer service. Good one on one training and on the job training.

    Cons

    Haven't found one yet but doubt I'll find it with a great company to work for

    the company as a whole is the best part.

    Cons

    the customers are the worst part. its difficult when the people that call in hate you - not the company, but you. however this is not at the fault of DIRECTV and rather consumer incompetence.
