Former Employee – worked at Dell full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Very structured process and procedures which supported the sales floor.
Management were generally very approachable
Opportunities within the organisation to cross into other roles
Cons – Very very metrics focussed with daily KPI's on sales numbers and talk time.
Too focussed on the weekly number and commitments up the chain to management vs building long term customer relationships.
Eventually too many hoops and lines of business gates to jump through to reach target
Target increases were double and triple digit figures quarter on quarter
Advice to Senior Management – Learn how to retain your talent
Opex is way too low and hardware reps are being made to pay for a services business that is not performing.

Current Employee – been working at Dell full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Dell's segmented supply chain model all the way from order management to how products are delivered is still industry leading.
Cons – We need to be more confident with our products and invest more in marketing. The streak model is a good example of how we were well ahead of the market but dropped it mid-way but companies like Samsung manage to completely capitalize on that form factor.
Advice to Senior Management – Lets bring back Brand Dell - We cannot afford to lose this. We still have everything it takes.
