Pros – Big company with opportunities, you can change position if you are capable and learn a lot.
Cons – Too big sometimes and processes changes slow...to much bureaucratic, stable but not too modern IT env.

Current Employee – been working at Delphi full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Technology, good place to learn and learn on the job. As this has been my only employer I have been satisfied. I have learned a lot and worked with very competent, skillful and disciplined engineers. This was a great place to learn the "art" of engineering. I have loved almost all of my experiences here.
Cons – Management tends to micro-manage a bit which is a bad thing when most of the employees each have 20+ years of experience. You must manage your career for yourself and not expect others to look out for you (that can be a pro or a con); mentoring programs have been non-existent for the last 10+ years.
Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of the escalation process and let employees be more pro-active. Focus on getting a good job and not on metrics.

Pros – Engineering teams have lot of freedom to innovate and improve!
Cons – Management has no clear vision and does not pursue the vision singlemindedly
Advice to Senior Management – Have clear vision, communicate the vision to managerial staff and down to engineering.

Pros – One of the leaders in the industry. Fair company culture. Strong technical background which has been in the industry for many years.
Cons – Middle management's decisions not so wise. Compensation not quite competitive compared to other similar companies.
Advice to Senior Management – Get more talented people with higher paycheck!

Former Employee – worked at Delphi full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Processes put into place are effective and efficient.
Cons – Tight-knit group of former GM employees, very critical of others and unwelcoming to new/outside talent. "Heads will fly" management style creates an environment of information-withholding, and a fragile workforce.
Advice to Senior Management – Encourage a truth-be-told environment to build upon each others strengths, identifying areas of improvement via "lessons learned." Scare tactics are not a sign of good management - arise from the 1960's "iron fist" management style.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
