I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Workplace is full of intelligent and dedicated colleagues. Great benefits and opportunities for international business travel and long term assignments. Excellent resume builder.

    Cons

The Jacksonville site is a cost saving operations center, so there is not as much room for front office or upper managment growth. Management can be short sighted at times. Internal promotions do not always carry a competitive salary increase.

I worked at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

DBGT has great benefits packages, reasonable pay packages.
The team I worked with in Cary was great.

    Work hours were relatively manageable.

    Cons

There are not enough resources for self learning. Very few CBTs available.
Relatively few trainings held in classroom as well, other than the ones pushed down from management.
DBGT is a separate legal entity - meant for software development for the bank. Downside, it got disconnected from the business and employees lack exposure to business knowledge and requirements, yet the organisation as a whole is just as regulated as the business, coz its still a bank. Makes it extremely hard to actually work and get ahead in your career. I have tried networking extremely well across the organisation, but DBGT has too many strategic issues, leading to a lot of internal politics to fight against, to get anything done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand the impact of strategy to the people and business:
ex: Moving jobs from London and NJ to Cary - and then hiring people in Cary to report to managers in NJ and London - caused complete disharmony and a conflict of interest among teams. This impacted deliveries across the board.

Too many vendors - Lead to lack of accountability and the piecing together of ridiculous SLAs across all teams.

I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Somewhat interesting systems
    Some enthusiastic people

    Cons

Been here for far too long and seen seven senior managment changes each with their own idea on how to make IT more efficient, sometimes in conflict with the previous decision
The graduate programme once the pride of this bank has been reduced to accepting the bottom of the barrell. Students with horrible GPAs and a complete lack of self awareness somehow get a job here

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to the hiring process
Stop with the constant organisation changes

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
