Former Employee – worked at Dunkin as an intern for less than a year
Pros – Bosses and team integrated me into everything they did (i.e. client and team meetings, photo and video shoots, promotional events). Enjoyed the amount of responsibility given in completing my own marketing project to benefit franchisee sales. Gave me the confidence to apply to any global company.
Cons – There is not many bad things I can say.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep giving your interns great opportunities and responsibilities.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Dunkin full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – First and foremost, the people I worked with were great. It was a real team environment and I always felt like we accomplished a great deal. The location in Canton was very convenient and had free parking. Onsite cafeteria, fitness center, and of course the free ice cream, coffee and other Dunkin' products were a nice thing to have! I enjoyed working there!
Cons – In my particular position, there was no career progression. However, in other areas there were many opportunities for people to move around and grow with the company.

Current Employee – been working at Dunkin as an intern for less than a year
Pros – Very hands-on, integrated member of the team with a lot of responsibility and trust. Close relationships with upper management, and an array of projects to build your portfolio for the future. Get out of it what you put in, management will not look over your shoulder to get things done.
Cons – Lot of responsibility for not a lot of pay, but it is an internship so you should be happy you are paid at all!
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the good work, loved the relationships I formed and the mentoring I received.

Current Employee – been working at Dunkin full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – I worked at Dunkin at a casino , so we got really good tips there. I also got to work in three different stores all week so it had some variety to it.
Cons – The job is very tedious, so much I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder because of it. Be sure to use proper body mechanics while you move on the job. The people i worked with were mostly boring with some exceptions. We never get raises. We have to ask for it. You are working with mostly women so expect lots of mindless highschool drama 24/7, just lay low and don't get involved, you will have a much more pleasant time working there. Some franchises are really against tattoos, and peircings (because it's food service and all), and colored hair, it depends on the franchise..
Advice to Senior Management – Praise your employees more often and give raises every once an a while. Accept tattoos, its 2013 for f sake.

Current Employee – been working at Dunkin full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Satisfaction in helping small business owners build a successful operation.
Cons – Lack of career development, no long term planning, daily fire fighting, not focused on improving processes, technology focus is only for retail stores and not focused on corporate needs, terminate long term employees at the drop of a hat

Current Employee – been working at Dunkin full-time
Pros – Fantastic brand with a large base of loyal guests
Lots of growth still ahead for Dunkin' and Baskin (West Coast, International)
Senior Management is accessible if you work in HQ's, and most seem to genuinely care about employees
Entrepreneurial culture that thrives on innovation and constantly course corrects to drive sales
Work/Life balance generally supported throughout the organization (in theory)
HQ's close at 1:30 on Fridays 52 weeks/year
Cons – Pay is generally below market
Career growth limited for most (frequent openings, but only for lateral moves)
Franchisee model slows or hinders execution frequently
Most departments are understaffed relative to comparable chains
Due to the lack of staffing, Work/Life balance not possible if goals are to be achieved
More than 50% of Directors at HQ's don't seem to last more than 2-3 years
Small % minorities in Leadership positions at HQ's
Advice to Senior Management – Take a longer-term perspective when evaluating investments in staffing/resources to grow the company. (Not all initiatives are going to pay off in the first 12-18 months, but most company strategies seem to focus solely on short-term payoffs)
Strengthen/enable the HR Team to improve pay and career path planning. They don't seem empowered or incentivized to create true growth opportunities for the majority of the company.

Current Employee – been working at Dunkin part-time for less than a year
Pros – Easy, good part time job for if you are in school, managers may or may not be flexible, but mine is.
Cons – Boring, very very boring, especially if you close. 8 hours feels like an eternity when it takes 2 hours of actual work to close the store.

Former Employee – worked at Dunkin part-time for less than a year
Pros – You are given free food and drinks as long as your make them and you do not partake while the store is busy
Cons – Managers tend to be high-strung close minded people who very rarely respect anyone other than themselves.
The store is always busy and the closest thing you can do to hope for a break is to go to the bathroom.
