I have been working at EY full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Some of the people you work with can become good friends outside of the office. There is always some work available (albeit it can sometimes be absolutely dull and extremely monotonous).

    Cons

The work-life balance is definitely lacking considering how many hours you work. It's sad when you divide how much you get paid by how many hours you work. Sometimes there's unnecessary pressure to stay longer than needed. There's great pressure on ridiculous utilization goals, to the point where it becomes stressful (and this can obviously lead to lower productivity). Despite this utilization goal, interesting work is still outsourced to work centers in India. I understand this increases firm profits but (I believe) it doesn't trickle down to our paychecks..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Staff and employees in the lower echelons should be given more enriching work - this will definitely help the firm in the long run.

I have been working at EY full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Great people
    Smart colleagues
    Lots of training
    Big name clients
    Career runway
Exposure to a lot of different industries

    Cons

    Poor pay
    Tactical tasks
    Long hours
Many years until you get to a big salary

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The income paid in the larger cities is not enough to support a family. It's probably fine for young professionals, but it is challenging for those with kids.

    Pros

You work with really good, smart people. Fortune 500 clients. Can be very Interesting and challenging work. Great ability to learn about new industries and processes.

    Cons

VERY political. You will work very hard, long hours, and the amount of assistance you receive is very dependent on the partner or senior manager you work with. Easy to get stuck on the same account for a very long time, so the work can become routine.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People first really should be an operating strategy not just a slogan.
