Former Employee – worked at AMD as an intern for more than a year

Pros – -friendly and knowledgeable people
-you feel your work effect the company, even though it is a large company
-you gain a tremendous amount of knowledge
-laid back atmosphere between projects
-a computer enthusiasts dream workplace
-a lot of expensive high-tech equipment you would otherwise never see or use

Cons – -can be difficult to obtain full-time status in some teams (fairly rare problem though)
-like most companies, resources are stretched thin, mainly too much work over too few people, or unrealistic timelines
-some teams have a constant cycling of contractors and some knowledge is inevitably lost and/or time is spent getting new hires up to speed (limited to only some teams too)

-experience widely depends on department*

Advice to Senior Management – -be careful how many projects you try to assign teams to work on simultaneously, employees have tended to get burnt out when this happens

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
