Pros

hires management with no previous experience, good opportunity to get your feet wet, good benefits, young and attractive coworkers

Cons

salary not competitive, long hours, work holidays, very structured setting, loud music nonstop on the sales floor and fragrance not for everyone, must recruit/hire new employees and new managers based on looks

    Pros

    -wear jeans to work
    -talk about looks all day
    -sleep in if you're closing
    -potential for promotions (if you can survive 3 years of working in a mall and being treated like your life is meaningless)

    Cons

    -you conribute $$ towards clothes that only high schoolers should wear
    -the training in the MIT binder isn't followed whatsoever
    -your supervisor probably was promoted based on no skills/running a retail store or leadership
    -you always work weekends if you aren't the SM
    -a friend of mine still works for the store and says her pay is lower than it was a year ago

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Track assistant managers more thoroughly than through SMs and DMs. Your turnover is so high because the SMs and DMs have no leadership/management skills. Just because they take phone calls all day doesn't mean they know what's going on in their stores.
