Pros

You won't get envious looks at Bay Area parties when you say you work at Ask, but there is a lot of good here. Good people, interesting work, lots to learn.

Latest hires, especially in management seem solid.

Cons

The 'no vacation policy' is bad policy. The people who need vacations are too conscientious to take them and the slackers take advantage.

There is a tendency to give the few slackers the benefit of the doubt instead of getting them on plan and out asap.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less tolerance of low performance, please. Continue the strong hiring track you are on.

Great company to work with and retains cultural values

    Cons

We need to have a better communication in between teams (lack of co-ordination some times).

Great salary and work/life balance, limited innovation

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Oakland, CA (US)

    Pros

Salary, benefits (unlimited vacation time!) and work/life balance are all great. Company has strong financial performance and pays very good bonuses. Weekly town hall type meetings to give updates on the business/Q&A. Doug (CEO) is accessible and always seems willing to answer questions.

    Cons

Could be more innovative. Focus has been on delivering financial results, not creating great products. Executive team can feel like an exclusive club to non-executives.
