Not a good place to work, and not enough substantive and meaningful work, run by fear and trembling

It is all about the company and very little about the employee.

    Pros

Management knows the way to get the best profit for the company. Great sales force that gets the products sold to the customers.

    Cons

Non-Silicon Valley working culture. One way communication from the top. Recognition is minimal. No performance review. Employees are not shared with the company direction and vision. Upper management doesn't seem to be interested in employee feedback. Employees are assigned with tasks as it goes and told to work on them with no question asked, and yet, direction changes often and is confusing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Besides selling the product, spend some time to listen more to all employee feedback.

Most Asinine Company I've Ever Worked For

    Pros

The vision for the IDOL technology is compelling in terms of managing and leveraging unstructured information.

    Cons

A lot of marketing fluff backed by very little substance. Supported by a skeleton internal organization that only supports the largest opportunities. Majority of customers relying on channel partners for support. Autonomy is clearly banking on first mover status, technology lead and sunk costs to keep customers captive. Predict a wholesale mass exodus of customers and channel partners when competitive offerings are good enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no point. The Management Team at Autonomy is too busy playing their own game of Survivor and thinks they have all the answers anyway.
