A great place for a technologist to work. Lots of room for growth.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

the firm is large enough that a technologist has the opportunity to work on many different lanaguages, operating systems and businesses. There is a good work/life balance. Pressure when a project warrants it, but not a constant expectation of late hours and weekends.

    Cons

Bank of America corporate level pushes many processes and procedures down the corporate levels. Much of it more relevant to the retail side of the firm, as opposed to the capital markets groups inherited from the Merill meger.

    All in all not bad

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexable work location - home, remote offices, etc. Lots of challenges and lots of change = opportunity for new jobs.

    Cons

Constant change comes at a price. Frequent upper management change or re-orgs causes a lot of extra overhead to still essentially the same work completed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think of the end result when making organization changes and make upper management bonus tied to review of the success of those re-organization.
