I have been working at Best Buy part-time for more than 3 years

Pros

The people: great bosses, great coworkers. Decent retail wages. Discount, part-timer benefits, vendor offers. Very socially active company, hires employees with tattoos and piercings, allows employees to express individual style. Comprehesive training. Internal hiring for higher positions.

Cons

Pay is not great. Hard to move up in rank without changing positions or stores often. No commission. Dealing with a LOT of dumb and/or frustrating people daily.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wonderful place to work! Please encourage more vendor accomodations. There were many more when i started than now.

    I worked at Best Buy part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Managers and leads were always willing to help you better your position and performance. There was some mobility in departments and the management team was always willing to help employees find the right fit for themselves in the store.

    Cons

    None for the company itself; it's the customers you'll have to watch out for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be more willing to let your sales associates switch shifts with each other.

    I have been working at Best Buy part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Employee discount, meet many great co workers, good scheduling, "have fun while being the best", easier to move up within company.

    Cons

    Managers micro manage a bit too much, managers care more about numbers than their employees happiness while at work, all employees are biased towards the products they like

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Do not micro manage the sales floor, at least pretend to have an interest in your employees happiness and life.
