Has moved from work hard. Play hard. To Work hard...work harder

Brand Marketing (Former Employee)
London, England (UK)

I worked at British American Tobacco full-time for more than 8 years

ProsGreat renumeration, people, career opportunities, autonomy and challenges of working within a highly regulated environment.

ConsHighly political environment where numerous people were 'over-promoted' and could not back these promotions up with either the skills or experience.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt's been a busy year of change at all levels at BAT, and it is slowly getting rid of all those that do not have the skills/experience to perform at their level. The challenge for management will be change the culture into one that moves the business forward at the same time as retaining the good talent it has. If there is one piece of advice it would be to tell the employees what the new vision of the company is and if this has not changed....how they are going to achieve this faster than what was previously being done.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
