I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

While Cisco does expect a lot from its employees, I am extremely impressed with its compensation and work life balance. I have seen Cisco do extraordinary things for my coworkers when they absolutely need it the most. Makes me very proud...

    Cons

I struggle to find a negative, but If you are more comfortable with a small organization, then Cisco isn't the place for you.

    Pros

Great brand name and experience you can later leverage.

    Cons

Easy to get lost and the best performers aren't always noticed. It's not what you know but who you know kid!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's simple, people managers should be people that 1) have an interest in managing and leading and 2) are good at it, i.e. they have the requisite people and soft skills to do the job effectively.
