Used to be a great company

Technology (Current Employee)
Atlanta, GA (US)

I have been working at Cox Communications full-time for more than 3 years

ProsUsed to really love the people I worked with
If you know the right people, you will have great opportunities to learn + branch out

ConsToo many contractors taking over previous full time employee jobs
Many people being let go or quitting who were a real asset to Cox
It is frustrating to see new people being brought in who don't know anything about what they're supposed to do and aren't willing to learn.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe people who have been here for 15+ years and really know their stuff are the people we should keep, not let go.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Not a good place to work if you want to move up

Account Executive (Current Employee)

I have been working at Cox Communications full-time for more than 5 years

Pros: Pension Plan + 401k, generous vacation, overall employee friendly Cons: No career path, promotions are based on who you know… Advice to Senior Management: Manage people by performance, train people to move up and hire from within. Management is almost oblivious to anything going on around the company.… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
