I have been working at Credit Suisse full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Good compensation, decent people to work with

Cons

Lack of direction from management, poor work life balance -- constantly need to be checking emails and overworked at times and receiving calls at odd hours of the day to provide support, not many chances to advance your career

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to work out staffing issues and firmly assign responsibilities for each separate group and not overlap them, making individuals support applications from various groups -- causes exhaustion from being overworked

Good for start, competitive salary but job is boring and small chance for development

I worked at Credit Suisse full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - good salary,
    - great people,
    - benefits (cinema tickets or gym card, yearly bonus, language course),
    - company's brand

    Cons

    - repetitive and boring tasks,
    - limited access to tools (it's a swiss bank after all..), your productivity will drop significantly if your job depends on tools you will not be able to use but you are used to,
    - no chance to develop (unless you want to become a "manager") and nobody to learn from,
    - poor management on most of the levels (lack of charisma and true leadership, most promotions are based on seniority)
     - way too many managers (team leaders, sector heads, sub-sector heads, sub-sub-sector heads...you get the idea)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let your people do better job by enabling the tools they need,
Fire the people who can't describe what they're doing in 15 seconds - there's a good change nobody will notice they're missing.

I worked at Credit Suisse as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Open-minded culture. Great team spirit. A lot of empowerment for Interns. Given chance to freely speak to leaders and build network. Good flexibility in terms of time and locations where you work.

    Cons

Lack of opportunity to switch roles within company (maybe intra-division, but not inter-division). Interns not allowed to choose which department to go to

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The encouragement and enthusiasm shown when dealing with interns be replicated for all staff and provide equal opportunity for all staff. Allow for interns to choose which departments to go to and then interview with the direct manager.
