I have been working at Dropbox full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Insanely smart people
    - Down to earth and laid-back culture; check your egos at the door
    - Food is amazing (and the gym helps for working off those extra pounds...)
    - Incredibly flexible hours
    - Tons of room for growth; ability to take ownership of new projects and initiatives

    Cons

    - Very young company so mentorship with older managers/leaders may be more challenging

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When a company grows quickly, it's hard to maintain the small-company feel. Keep the hiring standards up and continue bringing in talented people who value things like professional relationships, mentorship, community, and the "We not I" attitude.

    Awesome place to work

I have been working at Dropbox full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - This is an environment full of brilliant people; there is never a shortage of work-related insight or non-work-related interesting conversation.
    - The culture is one of dedication to excellence--people truly care about creating a great product and providing a delightful experience for users.
    - Building a real income-generating product, rather than being an ad-supported platform, is incredibly freeing. It feels great to be working on a product that we can provide to everyone for free, and that provides an experience good enough that some users are willing to pay for more space.
    - "Work hard, play hard" is cliche, but an accurate description of Dropbox.
    - The food is awesome.

    Cons

With an environment focused on quickly creating a great product, there comes pressure. It's mostly not external--there's just a drive to be awesome that rubs off on you, and sometimes results in long hours.
