Former Employee - Performance Improvement in London, England (UK)

I worked at EY as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Hours are not too bad and they are quite lenient if you want to have a shorter day or want to work from home. Culture is very horizontal, you can chat to partner if you wish to, open plan office means that you might be sitting one day next to very senior people the other day you will be sitting next to interns.

    Cons

Work is rather monotonic however after first two years you start managing people and this creates a completely different feel. Also working and doing exams at the same time is quite difficult too

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I felt like I needed more help and care when I just started, some more guidance during first few weeks would be very helpful

I have been working at EY full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Best place to start a career; highly professional people, well organized career path. Great benefits. Highly prestigious. The best of the best. Cannot think of enough superlatives.

    Cons

You may have to work some very long hours, but not always and you learn to balance work with your life. Work product must be perfect, every time (don't know if this is pro or con, but you get used to perfection and then if you go somewhere else you'll have trouble tolerating slobs).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Continue what you are doing.
