    Pros

The support is great, the training is great. Good place to start, truly. However, BEWARE their employment contracts, and their non-competes. Luckily I live in a state where they were sued for their Right to Work Policies, but if you live in the Midwest you will never be able to leave this company with your clients

    Cons

I was successful in my area, so they flooded it with new FA's. It ruined my reputation, they competed directly with me, and I was only in my third year. SO I left. I took 80% of my clients and counting. Longer I was there I realized it really is only about making the GP's money and the whole Ted Jones nonsense is a lie to sell you on the company. They want you to gather assets, put it in fee based accounts, then quit so they never have to pay you what you earned. The sad part is that 99% of people do quit after all their hard work and never get to realize any of the money that they earned

    Advice to Management

Blood sucking GP's need to pay people what they deserve

If you drink the kool-aide, have no financial background, this is the place for you.

    Pros

Everything you're expected to do is clear. The company is large and they have the ability to train you to do what is needed of you.

    Cons

Outdated business model. Going door-to-door is soul crushing for some people who would be excellent financial advisors. The biggest problem with this job is that it's more sales than financial advising. Not only is it sales but it's door-to-door sales. That's why it's great for someone with no financial background, but if you do come from the industry it's simply humiliating to invade the privacy of potential clients while they are with their families or at home relaxing.

    Advice to Management

    Understand that times are changing.
