I have been working at Fidelity Investments

Pros

Absolutely great people and good culture with good profit sharing.

Cons

They do not pay competitively and are on the low end. Raises are nothing to write home about. One needs to leave here and come back to get a significant bump in pay.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Well-known company with a diverse set of financial services businesses, Well-established in its markets.

    Cons

Extremely bureaucratic organization. Company stopped rewarding risk-takers years ago. Attitude of most employees. is is to get what they can out of Fidelity because Fidelity is not going to do much for them. Huge amounts of expertise were let go (ie, senior subject matter experts, IT people) in past five years to reduce salary costs; now is literally hard to find people who understand the business they work in. Company communications to employees are of the rah-rah We are Great! sort. Compensation levels are below industry standards. A policy of no promotions for past seven years or so for mid and senior IT people adds to dissatisfaction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Leave.
