Pros

People are great and make it happen.

Cons

US-centricity - allows for optimisation of business process but ability to influence dependent on individual manager perspective.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consistent support of remote employees through management skills set. Harness the power of ALL employeees.

    I have been working at Gartner full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Very generous vacation and semi- flexible work schedule.

    Cons

    Very 'who you know' or 'who you kiss up to' culture. No raises. Have earned less each year over the past 5 years. Health insurance went to crap after Obamacare was passed. No recognition unless you are buddies with management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Start seeing what your people do and give them recognition. Stop taking credit for work your reports do and start actually managing. Senior management has no clue and if you have an opinion or a suggestion just keep it to yourself or you will be labeled with an attitude.
