I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Advantages of a large company such as good benefits and enough resources to support the work. Good policy allowing for moving to another position within the company.

Cons

Too much bureaucracy. Not enough communication. Too much emphasis on profitability and growth. Too much time spent tracking time. Salary freezes and downsizing when things aren't going well.

I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Lots of good opportunities, ability to change roles and grow if you are self-directed and motivated. Opportunities to telecommute. Committed and talented employees.

    Cons

Continual reorganization, lots of red tape, very little autonomy for managers. Inability for people to get raises and promotions. Current difficult financial situation has caused low morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

trust breeds trust. Invest in people to raise morale. Not everyone who telecommutes is productive.
