I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

The company is very supportive of working at home. This means one can work almost anywhere in the country and that is quite helpful.

Cons

The pay raises were few and far between over the course of the last seven years. This made working for HP a bit less salary competitive.

    challenging job, flexibility (work fromhome),great work environment, open management, honest support from colleagues and managers, great access to information, training ressources (online),

    Cons

    overload, stress, very low benefits compared to benchmark, not a very objective yearly evaluation, very slow career progress and sallary increase / changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    improve 'motivation' for the employees: comp & ben, sallary more aligned to the market
    discss with HR and improve the pace and formalities for career movements & salary changes (upgrades etc)

    360 peer feedback valuable. Manager(s) who regularly provide feedback and constructive & active guidance are most effective.

    Cons

    Thoroughness varies greatly on manager experience and interest in employee development vs rank leveling. Assume when new to a role due to inner company transfer, that a review levels will drop at least one level if not two/three.

    Truly prioritize regular & competitive employee development and salaries.
