When one of your core values is "its the people" you should be sure that you are hiring leaders that can foster that value.

Current Employee - Staff Engineer in Bangalore (India)

I have been working at Intuit full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good Engineers
Good Leadeship team ( VP, Directors )
    Good Compensation

    Cons

Bad managers middle-level ( SDMs, GDMs ). Talkers are much more valued than doers. Performance ratings nowhere relate to performance.
Outdated technology stack , you will get bored easily.
    Sandboxed business domain
Too much of so called innovation ( not truly innovative ), and technology innovations get lost in the mass.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is said to be "people first", but most of the managers doesnt understand this philosophy. AES scores doesnt reflect the truth, employees are scared to tell the truth.

I worked at Intuit full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    -competitive compensation package
    -excellent internal leadership training programs
    -Great front line employees
    -Good rewards program
    -Collaborative teams
-Stable company with a fantastic balance sheet

    Cons

-To advance, you must "manage up"
    -complete lack of organizational transparencies
    -unbalanced performance review processes
-no organizational stability - reorgs multiple times per year
-culture varies greatly between business units and locations
-morale varies greatly between business units and locations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

take a hard look at your Directors and VP's for those with a low say/do ratio and discipline accordingly. Especially in PD. Seek active feedback from their managers and frontline employees. Provide more transparency across the board. Live the values - don't just pay them lip service. Try to standardize on work experience, work/life balance, and morale across all BU's.
