    I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Working with nice people. Store discount.

    Cons

You are a disposable number and that is all. The new CEO is making changes on a daily basis that impact peoples livelihood and there is no job security.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the new CEO.

  2.

lots of work to get ahead, promotions hard to come. Not based necessarily on performance, about who you know and impress

I have been working at J. C. Penney

    Pros

opportunity to relocate, most of the team members are friendly

    Cons

long hours, pay isn't always "equal" for jobs that are being performed. Haven't had a raise in a couple of years, other than a cost of living increase for a relocation. Even though it was a bigger store and more people to manage, and in a state of disaster upon my arrival from the previous person who was terminated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

work life balance, non-existent if you want to see a promotion. home office team is out of touch with the realities of actually working in a store on a day to day basis. Take a look at the attendance policy, far to lenient.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
