I worked at Lincoln Financial Group as an intern (less than an year)

Pros

-Structured; task-oriented assignments
-Regularly scheduled meetings are helpful for feedback
-Open atmosphere; any questions quickly answered by team members

Cons

-Work atmosphere can be loud and unprofessional at times
-Disagreements between employees occasionally divert attention from the task at hand
-Inconsistent level of communication between management and staff
-Interns in various business units (i.e. sales / accounting) do not have opportunities to interact
-No mentor program for interns

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure that interns are given a good impression of Lincoln and potentially establish a specific program to keep interns in-house and expose them to business units other than their own.

I worked at Lincoln Financial Group full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

If you are in Radnor, there is plenty of opportunity for growth on a corporate level. Not so much in other locations.

    Cons

Change is a constant. They've tried every management structure/tier system in the book....and still haven't found the right way to lead. There's a lot of talk of employee engagement....the net result of which was town hall meetings with the CEO and logo pens for all employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do something - the same thing - for more than a year and see if it works before changing it.

    Full of Politics & Discrimination!

I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time

    Pros

Used to be a nice environment to work for.

    Cons

If you don't have the background they want, you are screwed. If you only do a great job at work but not chat with senior management on sports during WORK HOURS, you are screwed.

The "inclusive and diversity" slogan came out only because of the discrimination lawsuit. If you chat with big boss on sports everyday, or if you happen to come from the background that helps them with the lawsuit, you don't need to be capable for your position but will have the most secured job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up! Great employees are leaving, leaving or being left. Where are they moving to? Your competitors!
