I have been working at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – You are entered into the teacher's retirement which is a stable retirement system. You may also contribute to a 401b and qualify for Social Security (if there is anything left when you retire).
Career paths are clearly laid out. It is fairly easy to transfer to other areas if you qualify.
Cons – Some departments have been mismanaged, and layoffs have occurred as a result. Departments vary widely as to management style. Communication is not this institution's high point.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
