Corporate yet fun (though not exactly a career boost)

I worked at MTV Networks full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Loved my coworkers—lots of fun people working there. Small perks here and there helped with morale, and also communal lunches. Rules were clearly laid out, with less bureaucracy than I'd expect from a large company.

    Cons

No growth potential, not the best pay. Very little mixing between departments—I had no idea who most of the people on my floor were.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More perks and activities to make people feel a sense of community (if that's the intention).

    Recommends
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at MTV Networks as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Fun, young, energetic staff with a lot of good ideas. They don't take themselves too seriously, but do take their work very seriously. The work I did was not very "intern-y", and I was given responsibilities and trust in my capabilities.

    Cons

Easy to blend in because the company is so large, and you will be forgotten if you do not network and make sure people remember you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to make interns feel valued and a useful part of the team.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    Approves of CEO
