    Pros

    If you are able to start in a management in training program with a corporate owned Marriott, you should do well. Stay away from franchise owned property management programs.

    Cons

    Your success is at the grace of the local market trend. At times it can be robust, at times depressing. There tends to not be much attrition on upper level management.

    Pros

    Travel discounts at great properties all over the world

    Cons

    Managament, it was a franchise property and they did not seem to care about employees at all. No possibility for promotion. Management changes too often.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    My experience was at the Courtyard San Diego Central, franchise hotel. I've heard really good things about the corporate Marriotts but that Courtyard was a different story. My advice to management - make your employees happy to keep your customers happy.
