I worked at McKesson full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Worked in the Medical Imaging Group in Product Management for over 3 years, after the startup where I had worked was bought by McKesson.
Company was great in first 2 years, but gradually started feeling its bureaucratic side more and more, until I decided to leave.
Huge company that provides a lot of exposure and with many resources.

    Cons

Their brand is not known at all relative to their size (Fortune 15). Company does invest a lot in growing its health IT business, but it is not a tech company at its core. That's evident in its risk overtness.

I worked at McKesson full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Excellent pay
    Great opportunities to grow
    Work/Life balance highly regarded
Community outreach very important to the company

    Cons

Low and mid level managers are usually chosen from project managers or sales pool.
They were good salesmen and project managers but poor managers.
Mckesson has the belief that you can make someone a good manager of people.
Management has an almost royalty self worth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn the difference between someone who is competent at their job and someone who is a good people manager.
Leadership can be taught but not everyone can learn it.
