I have been working at McKinsey & Company

Pros

1. Smart, motivated, and personable co-workers that you want to get to know both in and out of work
2. Endless opportunities to learn both hard and soft skills for people of all tenure
3. Great place to discover one's own strengths and weaknesses and figure out career path
4. Top-notch exit options
5. Leadership in the consulting industry (making strong client impact through the use of deep expertise and resources across many industries and functions)
6. Strong focus on firm values

Cons

1. High stress (continuous pressure to do well as a result of feedback-oriented culture)
2. Difficulty in work-life balance (worse than an average job, comparable to other strategy consulting companies, not nearly as bad as finance jobs)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

1. Introduce more firm-wide events/initiatives to foster the firm's global cohesiveness

I have been working at McKinsey & Company

    Pros

Extremely competent and hard working colleagues. Open and caring environment. Lots of challenges. Exciting projects. Fantastic growth opportunities. Decent compensation

    Cons

Not so good lifestile, typically it is required to work 60 - 70 hours per week to perform to expectations. Unpredictable workload.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership could be more transparent about how the company is performing overall (e.g. financial performance, growth relative to competitors)
