Pros

Great people, good work environment

Cons

Training as-you-go, short breaks, no regular schedule for seasonal associates (i.e. morning shift one day, closing shift the next), no shelf or merchandise dusting leads to allergic reactions in both employees and customers

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more sales associates on the floor to keep merchandise dusted and clean, clean the air filters more often

    Pros

    The only good thing was my co workers..........we all went through the same thing

    Cons

    The manager is an ego maniac and a male chovanist. He will degrade you as much as he can and in front of anyone who is around. The stock manager allows his workers to be treated like dogs, and does not stick up for them

    Corporate needs to train their managers to show respect for their employees

    I worked at Michaels Stores part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    I wasn't micromanaged and I loved my coworkers. My manager gave me extra hours when she realized that I was such a good employee, and it is nice to be appreciated.

    Cons

    Never got my discount card, not much communication between management and part time cashiers like me, and I had no responsibility to make my own judgments. Got thrown under the bus for a situation that occurred during a closing shift with a new manager and first time closing lead. Too much emphasis on getting email addresses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Don't just fire someone for the sake of firing them because something bad happened.
