    I worked at Microsoft as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    People - most are smart, accessible and down-to-earth
    Benefits & Environment - stable, comfortable, nurturing
    Work-Life Balance - excellent
    Programs - some excellent executive/education programs (including MACH for new grad hires)
    Office - cafes, central commons, nice campus, beautiful greater Seattle scenery

    Cons

    Meetings & Hierarchy - as with many big companies, there can be a culture of too many meetings or needing buy-in for many people/groups, which slows down projects and product development (esp. unhelpful for tech)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Help out any way you can to facilitate red tape/buy-in around projects for subordinates. Having to move slowly or navigate too much bureaucracy can hurt motivation/output of junior employees
