Pros

At microsoft, you have a chance to work with world-class engineers and large scale project, The company provides very comprehensive training and career development path.

Cons

As with any large companies, Microsoft is mature and less agile than many startup companies, this results in late response to market opportunities.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management has done a great job in company management, they can do a better job in pursing opportunities based on new market trends

    Some jobs in cutting edge areas that let you learn and gain competitive experience
    Smart people you work with creates challenging and engaging atmosphere. Exceptional technical fellows and distinguished engineers are reasonably accessible.
    Family friendly, benefits
    Lack of state income tax helps you build up financial nest egg.
    Beautiful nature in Seattle area with easy access.

    Cons

    Redmond-centric culture limits available locations for software development. There are some strong, innovative locations outside of Redmond though.
    Rain in Pacific Northwest except during summer.
    Lack of coherent company vision.
    Stagnant stock price with slow earnings growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Strong VPs and senior VPs, but top-level company leadership needs to come up with and articulate a compelling company wide vision or consider breaking up MS in 5-6 businesses for better shareholder value.
