I worked at Northwestern Mutual full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The high level producers are very encouraging and very willing to sit down and talk with you, the products are the best on the market, nice signing bonus, good software, great learning experience

    Cons

No base salary, my trainer was pretty poor but that will depend on the office, only teach 1 system that isn't very realistic, unless you can keep generating new leads, will be tough to make it

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a process in place that doesn't just involve asking everyone you know for referrals

Tough gig, but you learn a lot, even if you can't make it into a career.

I have been working at Northwestern Mutual

    Pros

Unlimited earning potential, full autonomy with work.

    Cons

That unlimited earning potential comes at a cost...unlimited amount of time needed to dedicate to being successful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hiring large amounts of people to curb against the low retention rate is not an efficient way to set up your financial reps for their future.
