I worked at Opportunity International full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The work is important and really makes a difference for the poor. It is something donors can get excited about. There can be great opportunities to develop as well.

    Cons

There is no consistent management. If something is not urgent, no one pays attention to it until it becomes urgent. There is too much office politics and gossip. And the board seems to be unhappy with every president it chooses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Manage and lead.

I have been working at Opportunity International

    Pros

Even though I was an intern at Opportunity International everyone treated me with the respect you would give to a full-time employee.

    Cons

The amount of research, while necessary for the company, became redundant and boring.
