Pros

Some good people if you're lucky enough to work with them. New building/amenities, pay is average for silicon valley, good health insurance.

Cons

Everything else. Culture of fear that starts with the CEO, inept C-level, VP's & directors. No long term strategy or plan. Too many people that don't care.

Advice to Management

No advice for management because it wouldn't do any good, advice to the board - fire the CEO.

    Pros

    There are still many talented engineers who know how to develop good products.

    Cons

    The upper and middle management pushes their agenda and creates a stressful environment for the product development teams.

    The vendors and contractors are selected using unknown criteria that appear to be based on personal connections and lead to bad results.

    The product team is constantly fighting over their pet projects. There is secrecy about priorities. The upper management is misinformed about the quality of the products. They prefer to shoot the messengers who provide realistic view. They prefer to send silly positive emails celebrating any milestone they can fake until they make it.

    There is a relatively new team of cronies in the new office in San Jose who keep bringing their incompetent friends to their team. They acquired fairly large amount of executive power to push other competent employees out.

    The forced vacation time was mandated twice in 2012. It significantly damaged the morale of the employees. It’s not clear what value it provided to the shareholders either.

    Advice to Management

    Start from the very top and fire the CEO. Set a direction for the company and explain it without marketing fluff. Do not chace buzzwords such as Cloud that you do not understand. Reward technocrats who know what to do and how to do it. Do not reward fake achievements.
