Pros: PR Branding of Literacy Message and Support of Educators and Schools Select pockets of… Cons: Silo'd and combative organization with little to no collaborative spirit No incentive to work towards common goals and financial success - every group for themselves Mean spirited… Advice to Senior Management: Develop a culture of meritocracy - streamline the many long term senior managers who have only worked at Scholastic for 20 plus years and bring… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More

Pros: In theory, creating books for children is fun and pure and not at all soul-sucking.… Cons: Poor (nonexistent) marketing strategy from the knee-jerk school of management results in tons of money wasted on projects that ultimately go nowhere. Arbitrary and contradictory… Advice to Senior Management: Get rid of the many arbitrary layers of management. Reward collaboration between departments. Come up with a consistent, top-down marketing strategy that encompasses print and… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
