I have been working at Stanford University

Pros

Stanford is a wonderful place with a million resources. I also met amazing, intelligent people, and found my life's passion.

Cons

Tenure professors can be extremely comfortable with their positions to care about what goes on in the lab. I had a terrible experiences because of bad management

I have been working at Stanford University full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

It pays relatively well for a student compared with other places.
It provides nice study and living environment, good on-campus housing, convenient facilities, etc.

    Cons

The students life here is really competitive. A lot of them have to struggle on their own risky project.

I love my job but can't stand the administrators.

I have been working at Stanford University full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Prestigious name, beautiful campus & facilities, decent benefits.

    Cons

Mediocre pay, VERY political, little or no respect for long-time employees. Administrators are more concerned with covering their rears and impressing superiors than they are about doing the right things. HR is a joke.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stanford is Stanford because of it's people - not because of it's policies. Take care of your people.
