I have been working at SunGard full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Nice benefits. If you can work with little direction and feedback it is an ok job. Great point solutions.

Cons

Lack of clear direction, defined roles and common goals. Lack of communication between the C-level and the workers. The company tends to position the lower paid workers to take ownership to figure it out, with out being full educated on the company business plan. people are not paid based by value or workloads. Unrealistic workloads.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why do we need so much management if management can not give clear direction or make business changes?

I have been working at SunGard full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Great to get experience.
    - People you work with are nice and smart.
    - Facilities are more than OK.

    Cons

    - Lack of strategy : today is "do what we were doing yesterday" even if everybody acknowledged that it is no longer working.
    - Package is below average/median.
    - No carrier management. You see the HR department twice, first and last day, and your manager has no say on his/her budget nor carrier development paths.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Top managers: stop focusing on the IPO and check the mid-management, right now they are left to their own device with very little success.

I worked at SunGard full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Company is good, salary is competitive and they fight for their employees when they try to leave.

    Cons

but is slow on making decision at production level, no sense of criticality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to be more energic with your engineers, way to soft.
